Humanist Speaker Visit

Last week, Year 5 had the opportunity to have their own questions answered by a Humanist before starting their learning.

Each class had a small lesson on what Humanism was, before thinking of questions for Cathy.

When she visited, the children spent the time listening as she answered their questions and completed activities with them.

Each class spent the afternoon designing a poster on the main beliefs of a Humanist – the posters were filled with facts, symbols and lots of colour as you can see! The children were reminded that the winners would not necessarily be the most colourful, but the designs that portrayed their learning and understanding.

The top 10 designs have been sent back to Cathy and David (the Chairman of Dorset Humanists) so that they can decide on the class winners. Stay tuned to find out who the winners are!
