Polar display

Year 6 were lucky enough to have a range of their topic work, based on the polar regions, displayed at Winton Library over the Christmas holidays. During the topic, we focused on two main art skills: sketching and water colour. We looked carefully at how we could combine these two different mediums in different ways to produce artwork based on wildlife that is adapted to survive in the harsh conditions. Alongside this, in English we explored non-chronological reports and how they can be used to share information about a species in a formal way. Each student created their own polar adapted animal in science and used this to write informative and eye-catching texts. The feedback from the library was fantastic and those who popped into see it were really impressed. If you didn’t manage to catch it, below are a few pictures showing off their work.
